La protección de la juventud y la infancia como límite a las libertades informativas en los medios audiovisuales

Resumo

The risk to minors from illegal and unsuitable content in the audiovisual media, requires a response from parents, communications industries and public powers, in order to protect children and young people against manifestations of freedom of speech that may interfere in the proper development of their personality. In the Spanish Constitution, the article 20.4º includes a concrete prevision referred to the protection of under-18s, as one of the limits to the exercise of freedom of expression. The thesis discusses how this response is being developed in Spain, by studying the ways of protection in different media: broadcasting, advertising, film and videos, Internet, video on demand, videogames and mobile phones.
