Abstract

The approval of Law 7/2017, of November 2, relating to the alternative resolution of consumer litigation, has finally come to allow mediation todevelop naturally in the field of consumers. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the aforementioned regulation, in as much as it entails important innovations both in terms of organization and procedure, which must be taken into account when making these mediations possible. However, the approach to this institution that makes the Law is quite deficient and not exempt from confusion, since it is not properly coordinated with the Spanish legislation that was already in force in this matter.
