Abstract

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of stress in college students of the degree in nursing in Galicia. It is of special interest to study population since the academic training of this title is demanding in relation to the theoretical training, practice and clinic. What induces high level of stress that prolonged time may involve the genesis of other organic and mental diseases in relation to the latter especially the genesis of disorders of anxiety and depression. This study used questionnaire RLCQ to determine the prevalence of stress and the processing of data by means of the software Microsoft Excel 2013 with the tool data analysis. Questionnaire has been administered in the College of nursing of Galicia in courses 1, 2 and 3 obtaining a significant for the total study population of sample (N = 955). The data obtained were statistically significant to determining average prevalence of elevated stress 30,5%. In relation to the above, this work takes on great importance since there are numerous authors that relate to stress with anxiety and chronic depression and with other mental and organic disorders as well as the negative impact on neurogenesis, neuroplasticity, neurotransmission and neuroendocrine system.
