Abstract

The mixture of dust from industries granite and slate, and the water used in its cutting and polishing processes for settling ponds drag them, are the source of a major environmental problem. The small size of its particles spread easily by the action of water and wind adversely affecting the flora and fauna. The possibility of using such waste for making ceramic building materials by compacting and subsequent sintering, could provide a solution to the accumulation of these waste equipping addition value. In this thesis we characterize the starting materials will be assessed their characteristics, properties and identify potential applications in the construction of the sintered material from slate, granite and the mixture of them in different percentages.
