Abstract

In the framework of the RESCLIMA project on the relationship between science and common culture of climate change (www.resclima.info), we analyze how this socio-environmental problem is approached in 74 ESO classbooks, because they are the most used resource in the classroom. We have considered three levels: textual content, iconographic and proposals of activities. Books are an instrument of legitimation of knowledge that transfers that is sometimes unscientific and interested (Michel Apple, 1993). The IPCC's Third Assessment Report points out that the effects of CC will be more severe in the primary productive sectors and in developing countries, which shows a deep asymmetry between the cause and the one who suffers the most. We present the voices absent from the consequences of the CC, which coincide with the most vulnerable social sectors and propose to introduce the discourse of climate justice to make these social consequences visible
