Abstract

This text analyzes the origin and evolution of the fundamental rights to honor and freedom of expression in both the international and Spanish spheres. The freedoms of expression and information in constitutional history are studied and it becomes clear that the more democratic the regime, the greater the recognition of fundamental rights and freedoms. It examines how the Constitutional Court resolves the conflicts between the freedom of information and the right to honor in Spain, especially when the affected person holds public projection.
