Abstract

We present a simple, low cost method for fabricating phase gratings by UV irradiation on the surface of lead-silicate glasses. We use the fourth harmonic of a Nd:YAG Q-switch laser (266 nm) to ablate the pattern generated for a commercial phase mask. The quality of the phase gratings is evaluated through the analysis of its efficiency. Likewise, a study of the efficiency variation with the irradiation time of the sample is presented
