Abstract

a Kerr medium, two thick birefringent retarders, a linear polarizer and a spectrometer. The Kerr medium acts as a spectrum and polarization modulator due to the effects of self-phase modulation and cross-phase modulation. The other components allows the analysis of the spectral state of polarization of the input pulse. This analysis is performed by using spectroscopic polarimetry with a channeled spectrum (K. Oka and T. Kato, Opt. Lett. 24, 1475 (1999))
