Abstract

A retrospective study is performed in order to establish the different indications of keratoplasty and associated surgery throughout the period from 1983 to 1989, Results demonstrated an increase in indications of bullous keratopathy (both aphakic and pseudophakic) and a decrease in herpes simplex keratitis. It is al so shown an increase of associated pathology to the Corneal damage and, thereby, of combined surgery (1.0,L. explant or exchange, anterior vitrectomy, etc.), thus increasing the risk of complications and affecting the visual outcome.
