Abstract

This paper’s aim is to propose a five stage itinerary along Primitive Way of Saint James. Sequences of activities were created to promote knowledge and respect for the natural and cultural environment. We used a physical activity to obtain our aim: hiking. This proposal consists of the description and development of several interpretive activities. Some unique elements in the Primitive Way of Saint James (vegetation type, heritage elements, features with interpretive opportunities...) are described, and different games and activities are proposed to perform with schoolchildren, especially at Elementary School. The results have led to the design of a guided interpretive linear trail. It consists of five stages, with stops, info and interpretive activities for each one, referring to natural, cultural and patrimonial concepts in the environment. That may be used by the teacher at the activity time.
