Resumo

Introduction: This study's aim is to test how the practice of moderate physical activity by a street circuit can influence on variables such as the body fat and lean percentages of participants, for people with a low level of physical activity and, therefore, a low healthy physical condition, in order to this circuit can be used as a tool for exercise prescription by qualified personnel in the issue of physical activity and sport. Material and methods: An intentional non-probability sampling of convenience sample had been performed through volunteers interested in participating in our study (N=12), who were between 20 and 52 years old. Before and after the 4- week training program, we tested them with the aim of obtaining evidence on body composition data, resting heart rate, metabolic rate, height, weight, physical activity levels, etc. Results: As regards anthropometry, after applying the 4-week program, a change in body composition was noticed, decreasing in most cases the body fat percentage, losing body fat and increasing lean tissue. Regarding basal metabolism, there was an increase after our research intervention program. About cardiopulmonary condition, no significant changes occurred. Conclusions: This experience allows us to estimate that the physical activity prescription by a low level requirement circuit can be useful to get a healthy physical condition and, in parallel, a better life quality and we can extend these tours to enjoy nature and environment in Lugo city.
