Resumo

A escritora irlandesa Eavan Boland publicou en 1989 o ensaio A Kind of Scar, no que salienta a relevancia da muller campesiña para o cambio de paradigma poético que está tendo lugar en Irlanda arredor desa década. Tanto o ensaio como o poema que inclúe a modo de epígrafe “The Achill Woman” constitúen un bo exemplo do xénero anti-pastoral e evidencian a exclusión tanto da experiencia real da muller campesiña como a da muller poeta da historia e a tradición literaria nacionais. O presente artigo restitúe, fronte ao desinterese de prácticas críticas recentes, a importancia da muller campesiña para a argumentación de Eavan Boland neste ensaio
