Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the possible relationship between craneofacial morphology and permanent teeth eruption and calcification. To achieve this a 500 malocclusive patient sample was analysed using lateral and panoramic radiographies and odontograme. A lineal correlation statistic analysis as well as a descriptive one in dijferent sub-samples with common skeletal characteristics were used. Main outcomes show there is positive correlation between mandibular size and eruption and calcification but there is not between these proceses and maxillary size. Calcification is advanced in skeletal class III at age 8-9 in comparison to class I and II, later on these differences desapear. Same could be said about eruption but only in the lower arch. There is also seen more advance in calcification and eruption in dolichofacials than in brachiofacials.
