Resumo

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the evolution of the total female employment and for sectors, in Venezuela in the period 1975-2000; as well as the evolution of the selected educational indicators, which illustrate the characteristics of the educational transition in this country. We present an econometric model that shows the incidence that the higher education has in the increase of total female employment. The relationship between these indicators is examined using quinquennial data from 1975 to 2000.
