Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship betwee the ability to rotate mental images and vocational interests; we wanted to know whether there was a difference between high and low on the Measure of the Ability to Rotate Mental Images (MARMI), and between high and low on the Measure of the Ability to Form Spatial Mental Imagery (MASMI) in each of the vocational interests enunciated by Holland: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising and conventional. A t test for independent samples was carried out, and the results indicated that scores on both the MARMI as in the MASMI influenced the realisti , investigative, enterprising and conventional profiles. Additiona scoresonly in the MASMI influenced the social profile. No influences were observed over other vocational profiles.
