Resumo

We have studied the caddisfies (Insecta: Trichoptera) of two mountain areas from the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, the Sierra de la Cabrera (León) and Montaña Palentina (Parque Natural de las Fuentes Carrionas y Fuente Cobre, Palencia). We have identified 2.290 adults belonging to 61 species, 50 and 25 of which, are recorded from the Montaña Palentina and the Sierra de la Cabrera, respectively. The faunistic list includes 34 new records for the Palencia province and 5 for León. From a biogeographical point of view is especially interesting the finding of Ptilocolepus granulatus (Pictet, 1834) in the Montaña Palentina, because previously only had been recorded in the Pyrenean region of the Iberian Peninsula. Finally a biogeographic analysis was conducted, highlighting the existence of an important endemic component, around of 30%, similar to other northwestern mountains, what confers to this fauna an exceptional conservation value.
