Resumo

Introduction Adrenal incidentalomas are adrenal masses greater than 1 cm, which are discovered in the context of an imaging test requested for another reason. History and clinical examination Usually patients whith adrenal incidentalomas are asymptomatic at diagnosis. Most masses are benign adenomas (70% nonfunctioning), and more rarely pheochromocytomas, or metastatic carcinomas. Evaluation It is necessary to determine whether the incidentaloma is a functioning mass, as well as its probability of malignancy, depending on the biochemical and imaging results, respectively. Treatment Treatment of choice in functioning, large and / or growing masses is surgery. Imaging and biochemical monitoring is indicated for the rest of the cases.
