Abstract
On the 4th of January of 1870, "La Nación" substitutes 2Nación Argentina" and gives birth to a company that will become a model for all American press and still is in present times. The family Mitre turned the paper into a “doctrinal platform” that pursued the reader’s indoctrination, a cultural expansion and the creation of an Argentinian national conscience. Its pages made room for some eminent Galician writers, such as Camilo José Cela, Emilia Pardo Bazán, Ramón María del Valle Inclán and Eduardo Blanco Amor, the latter carrying a remarkable journalistic activity.
