Abstract

All of the researches on the audiovisual sector done so far in Galicia stress the need to stimulate the external distribution of Galician audiovisual products. As a matter of fact, only 18% of those are finally dubbed or subtitled into other languages. After deeply analyzing the distinctive features of this sector, it is possible to conclude that a possible solution to this issue would be taking advantage of the wide range of facilities offered by Internet and the New Technologies of Information and Communication. This article is meant to study the opportunities and profits that an electronic net for the promotion and exchange of Galician audiovisual products would bring to production, distribution and technology companies, so as to locate those products in a good position within the external market.
