Abstract

Geometrical optics predicts the formation of an inverted image of the world on the retina. In this video, we confirm that this affirmation is true. The movie shows a light on the left, and an eye from a death cow on the right. We removed the superior part of the sclera in order to see the eye fundus. It is possible to see a reflex of the light on the cornea and the image of the light on the retina. We move the light up and down, and the image of the lamp on the back of the eye moves in the contrary sense. So the eye inverts the image.
