Resumo
The manner in which the competencies of the Autonomous Com munity of Galicia are exercised in matters regarding the preservation, amendment and implementation of its inherent civil law has not been without its fair share of controversy in Galician legal sectors. However, the current Law 2/2006, of 14 June, similar to what occurred with the former Law 4/1995, of 24 May, is the result of a joint paper presented by all parliamentary groups and approved unanimously by the Galician Parliament. This has not prevented the existence of technical problems (resources and non-constitutional issues) and criticism of the current legal text, in particular those aspects which latch onto historical law. Nevertheless, it must be mentioned that all legislative initiatives have been made taking into account the cooperation and contribution of all Galician legal players.
