Resumo
This contribution is built on the state of the art of contemporary Galician emigration to America and their engagement in cultural and educational development. It examines the involvement of the emigrants from the East side of A Mariña in the start-up and support for schools and other cultural initiatives. With a �return ticket�; in other words, we are dealing with emigration that involved certain forms of cultural appropriation in America, awarding sense and meaning to cultural assets such as schooling, whereby it is appropriate to examine their dynamics in Galicia in the 1920s and 1930s.
