Abstract

The hypothalamus is a gland that controls the body's homeostasis and produces hormones that regulate pituitary function. Hypothalamic disorders have different etiologiy, they may be due to genetic disorders or lesions at different levels: pituitary lesions, pituitary stalk lesions or hypothalamus lesions. Clinically, hypothalamic involvement can cause symptoms due to hormonal deficiency or excess, but it can also result in no endocrinology symptoms such as sleep disturbance, appetite or body temperature. Pineal tumors are rare lesions that can cause neurological symptoms and mass effect. They are a heterogeneous group of tumors whose diagnosis is based on imaging techniques. There is no consensus on its treatment.
