Resumo

The aim of this study is to determine the extent which the levels of affection in friendship groups of adolescents of both sexes, together with the linkage affection towards the parents, relate to the violent behavior within the group and the realization of deviant activities in group. The sample of the study was composed of 251 adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years, schooled in four Public Centers of High School. The results indicate that there are differences in the emotional interactions within groups of men and women: the interactions are more characterized by conflict and violence between men, and by the affection between women. However, for both, the group in-conventional group activities are linked to violence within the group, and with little emotional relationships in the family. The affection group does not show a relationship consistent with the violence or with the deviation group.
