Abstract

free press is present in Galicia in the Delegations of national journals: 20 minutos in Vigo and in A Coruña and Que! in Vigo, but there are also autochthonous initiatives from Galicia groups of communication: De luns a venres, Santiago Siete and Tierras de Santiago. In this paper, after doing a brief synthesis of which it is the free press and which are its characteristics, we analyze the living together of the national diaries with the autochthonous ones, simultaneously that we distinguish the principal differential features of three Galician diaries according to their structure and sections; predominant contents; definition of their targets - number of readers, public's profile-, managerial strategies of business and survival in a stage of economic weakness, specially for this type of publications sustained in the income for advertising.
