Resumo

All the social process that has generated any form of political violence has involved some beliefs or arguments for justify it. The analysis of this kind of beliefs and arguments constitutes one of the most relevant social or ethical functions that can be developed through the social psychological research. This paper try to illustrate that idea by means of the review of two studies developed in Latino American and Spanish contexts about the processes of construction and dissemination of discourse, which legitimise different forms of political violence. At the same time, those studies are useful to justify redemption of the concept of ideology for the social psychological research.
