Abstract

Production and distribution are two main aspects of a country economy. From a distributive scope, we analyse through the income distribution the absolute and relative inequality and welfare in Galicia, as well as its situation in Spain and in relation to other Spanish Regions. The data base is the EPF 90/91 and the reconstructed income by Pena Trapero (1996). The household disposable income is approximated by three variables: declared household expenditure, declared household income and reconstructed household income. We obtain homogeneous income data i) through time applying purchasing power parities and ii) through size, composition and scale economies of household applying equivalence scales. Inequality and welfareincome are quantified by a wide group of measures. We obtain outcomes for each variable and measure.
