Abstract

The tourism has experimented a continuous expansion over the last decades, the same at the world, european, spanish or galician level. However, this increasing hasn´t been the same in this time, but the growing ratios have changed depending of the year studied. The tourism demand neither had a equal evolution if the analysis is concentrated on the different months or geographic areas. If this analysis is made, is easy to prove how the tourism demand is located in specified months of the year and in concrete areas; in this case appear the phenomenon of the concentration, as much temporary as spatial, of tourism demand. The concentration of tourism demand, in the case of spatial concentration, can suppouse that given geographic areas remaind besides of tourism phenomenon or, for the destination areas, a excessive dependence of a few tourism emitting regions. The temporary concentration of tourism demand can drag labour instability problems, loss of service quality, low levels of professionality and another characteristics associated with the location of an activity in a few months of the year
