Abstract
In the last forty years Galician Agricultural Sector has experienced important changes and they have been especially intense since Spain joined the EC. In this context of profound changes, an analysis of the behaviour of total productivity of the factors in the sector for the period 1974-95 is carried out, comparing the results obtained for Galicia, its provinces and Spain. This paper shows that there is a marked difference, in terms of productivity, between Spanish and Galician results and within the latter the presence of relevant differences among the provinces which reaffirms the idea that agricultural policies will be more effective insofar as the different productive specialities and the concrete contexts of production are taken into account
