Zusammenfassung
This paper has a double aim. On one hand it weighs up the transformations under-gone by Galician agriculture since the European Community integration and, on the other it points out the esential outlines that define its present reality. In order to do that the setbacks that have taken place in the running of the sector since 1986 are underlined. And, with this context as a background, the main elements that define its recent dynamics are analysed. The ima-ge that comes into view is that of an agricultural sector that in the last decade witnesed the stagna-tion or the decrease of basic macro-magnitudes (production and income); that tends towards re-inforcing its specialisation in bovine productions; immersed in a fast population adjustment and in an intense proces of substituting work for capital, but where serious and persistent structural deficiencies cause work productivity to be kept at very low level; and finally, a sector more and more internally heterogeneou
