Abstract
In this article a balance of twenty-five years of local democracy in Galicia (1979-2004) is carried out and is centred on the following contents: the yield of the electoral local system, the formation of government and the political local instability, the motions of censure. As well as this, the existing proposals about the reform of the electoral local system are analyzed.
