Abstract
. Structural features of galician manufacturing industries and its changes and trend during the last decade are analysed. We focus the explanation of its evolution following the aproach of Regional Systems of Innovation. The Galician manufacturing industry suffered a recession during the first half of the '90 and experienced a recover during the second half mainly drived by the clothesfashion industry, wood manufacturing, building materials and car industry. The modests performances of the galician manufactures is a consecuence of the weak innovation capabilities, the deconection to the finantial sector and the ineficiency of the industrial and technology policy, in the context of a strong external competition
