Zusammenfassung
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Galician “economist” considered the precariousness of the land transportations system to be the main inhibiting economic development. However, their proposals in this regard had no practical transcendence. The vicious circle of backward-ness, in which traditional Galicia remained submerged, meant that reformist initiatives that did not attack its structural nucleus, which they did not, were cut down.
