Abstract
The present experiment is concerned with the persuasive impact of eyewitness testimony. Our subjects are presented with a hypothetical case, in which the main evidence against the accused is eyewitness testimony. Content of the testimony is always held constant. Manipulations affect witnesses' physical attractiveness, social status and speech style. Results are discusssed according to the Elaboration Likelihood Model (Petty and Cacioppo, 1986
