Resumo

In the implementation process of the undergraduate dissertation (TFG) in the Spanish Higher Education, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Santiago de Compostela has been one of the pioneers as a result of the complete introduction of the degree in Economics in 2009-2010. In this paper we explain the steps taken and the lessons learned during the process. From the perspective of the academic management, there has been a remarkable increase in the organizational, administrative, and educational tasks carried out in the Faculty, as a consequence of the specific characteristics of the subject. On the other hand, students perceive that this subject requires more effort than others; they feel satisfied with the support received from supervisors and demand more information and training activities. The interest of this study lies in that it provides the analysis and valuation of a process that many universities are facing.
