Abstract

The media maelstrom and the exponential distribution of audiovisual content in the multi society require a prosumer able to process, understand and develop the information. Natives and digital immigrants are to become effective multitasking individuals who interact and develop with others in person and virtual. Therefore and after analyzing the context in which such needs arise in the research presented, an approach is made to the concept of media competence and the need to develop it between teachers and students is justified. Also it analyzed through the results of the survey of media competence, level possessing non-university teaching of Galicia and Cantabria, the most recent and innovative in terms of introduction of ICT in the classroom projects are reviewed. The data justify the need for training for teachers and a marked lack of this as the dimension to which reference is made. Ultimately, the research confirms the need for continued development of the training task while glimpse the first results of the latest educational innovations.
