Abstract

Receivers are becoming people who transform contents and transmit messages related to new technologies of communication and information. That is to say, nowadays we cannot understand publics only from the position of addressees, because they do not resign themselves to receiving information, but also they value it, they comment, distribute, spread, spread, canalize and, even, they create it. This phenomenon blurs the barriers till now clear of whom was elaborating the information and the one who was consuming it and, in consequence, the traditional routines of informative production meet at the same time upset. Journalists cannot exercise the profession without paying attention to the activity that the audience is developing in the new virtual spaces of interaction and social participation, very specially in the social networks. The published news are valued and commented in Facebook or in Twitter, but also the citizens contribute information that can finish for turning into news. It is not only that the flows of the communication have changed, but new flows and new ways of canalizing the message exist. In this paper we investigate about the new professional profile of the journalist and the relation with these new communicative modalities. The information is obtained from a study on the labor situation of the Galician journalists and the impact of the crisis.
