Abstract
This presentation is about a case-study conducted with 4 fifth schooling year children. They were submitted to a methodology privileging collaborative work, during a session in which two problems about area were proposed. The way children interacted with each other to solve the problems is analysed. The main instruments used to collect data were the field notes written after the session took place, the audio and video recordings of the session and the protocol filled by the group during the task work
