Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to study the interrelationships between the normal state pseudogap, the phenomenology of the superconducting transition, the inhomogeneities and the disorder in the cuprate superconductors (HTSC). Specifically, we study the resistivity in the ab planes and the voltage-current (VI) curves in superconducting thin films of La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4). Brief panning of work:- Synthesis of films of La(2-x)Sr(x)CuO(4) with different dopings. - Characterization of the doping inhomogeneity and critical temperature by SQUID magnetometry. - Measurements of the superconducting phase coherence temperature through VI curves. - Analysis of the superconducting wave function condensation temperature using finite element simulations. - Measurement of the superconducting wave function condensation temperature through the resistivity measured in the ohmic regime.
