Resumo

Background: The loss of a tooth in the esthetic zone of a patientwith a healthy periodontal status, can be a very traumatic experience, although the use of fixed prostheses implantosupported prothesis forrehabilitation in the maxilla has become the treatment of choice dueto its success and predictability. The evolution of the oral implantology by experimental andclinical research has made possible the development of surgicaltechniques and prosthodontics that have improved the expectationsof success among patients. In this sense, it has been incorporated asa surgical technique to implant the insertion of implants immediatelyafter tooth extraction without the possibility of conservative treatment. After removal or tooth loss the alveolar structures decrease in aphysiological process. This physiological process consists in the verticaland horizontal resorption of the alveolar ridge, with changes in both itsheight and thickness. There is also the collapse gingival and the migrationof the adjacent teeth as well as changes in the quality of the bone, leading to the collapse of the cortical and medullary bone formation. The placement of implants post-extraction is a solution that benefitssuch as the reduction of treatment time and greater conservation of thebone and gingival architecture, therefore better aesthetics...
