Doctora por la Universidade de Santiago de Compostela con la tesis Desarrollo de nuevas estrategias de preparación de muestras aplicadas al control de contaminantes medioambientales a niveles traza 2005. Dirigida por Dra. Rosa Antonia Lorenzo Ferreira, Dra. Antonia María Carro Díaz.

Rosario Rodil obtained her PhD in Chemistry in 2005 (Universidade de Santiago, USC). Then, she was a postdoc researcher at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, UFZ-Umweltforschungzentrum Leipzig-Halle (Germany) (2005-2006). In 2006 she got a competitive program postdoc “Juan de la Cierva” at the University of A Coruña until April 2009. From April de 2009, she got a senior “Ramon y Cajal” research position at USC until March 2014. From March 2014 she got a position of temporary associate professor until November 2015 when she promoted to Associated Professor, which is her current position. She has published about 123 papers in indexed journals and 4 book chapters. Her H-index is 45. She has presented his work at many international conferences. She has participated in more than 20 research projects being currently PI of the Subproject “Assessment of environmental and human exposure to high concern chemicals” within the AQUASOMIC project – High-throughput analytical strategies to assess environmental and human exposure to emerging contaminants (funded by the Spanish Research Agency) aimed at developing and applying high-throughput analytical strategies to assess environmental and human exposure to emerging contaminants. Moreover, she is one of the PI of an agreement of the Complementary R+D+I plans within the framework of the recovery, transformation and resilience plan funded by the EU in which all entities dedicated to marine sciences in Galicia participate for the development of new technologies for observing the marine environment applied to the evaluation and monitoring of its environmental status and to the improvement of the management of its multiple uses. The main objective of her research is the assessment of the environmental impact and human risk derived from exposure to organic pollutants to meet challenging objectives under the One Health paradigm. This will be accomplished by the: development of high throughput analytical methodologies, study of the presence and distribution of organic pollutants in the environment (mainly aquatic environment), estimation of the bioaccessible fraction of pollutants, identification of transformation products during water treatments, study of exposure to contaminants through urine analysis (biomonitoring) and through wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE). She acts as a reviewer in various journals in the areas of analytical chemistry and environment (e.g. STOTEN, Water Research, Chemosphere…) and belongs to the editorial panel of the journal Separations. She has been a project reviewer for international organizations such as Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong and Dutch Research Council (NWO), among others.
