Analysis of Material Culture with different approaches to the archaeological record: macro entities (landscapes, sites), semi-micro (buildings) or micro (objects: old books, ceramics, works of art), from prehistoric to contemporary times.
Trans-disciplinary strategies for the study of the territory: GIS, LiDAR, visual culture, History of Art, archaeometry and physic-chemical analysis (paleobotany, paleoenvironment, C14 and OSL dating, etc.), astrophysics, landscape anthropology, landscape archaeology.
We study management and government in pre-modern periods. We do also analysis of the ideological and cultural conceptualization of power. We pay particular attention on political thought, political anthropology and anthropological history.
